As per the TRA branding report, US-based multinational computer technology firm Dell has appeared as India’s ‘most-desired brand’ (MDB)
In the TRA Brand Trust Report 2021, it stated the Chinese smartphone producer Xiaomi’s ‘Mi’ has risen as the second-most popular brand in the TRA Brand Trust Report 2021, stated a statement by TRA Research. While the LG Televisions has risen as the third one and the competing Samsung TV has ranked fourth, it continued. While, Apple’s iPhone has been regarded as the fifth most-desired brand, down three positions from the former ranking of 2020.
A four-time leader, the Samsung mobile phone, has now dropped by seven ranks to take the eighth rank in the newest report. TRA Research CEO Chandramouli stated, ‘Dell in the laptop category has made significant strides in gaining pole position as India’s ‘most-desired brand’ of the 1,000 brands listed in the report. Among the top-50 are 18 Indian brands, nine US brands, eight South Korean brands and seven Chinese brands.’ There are 29 categories in the top-50 displaying a distinct consumer choice.
Nevertheless, he continued that mobile phones are the most-desired category with nine competitors, ensured by laptops and televisions (four brands each). Oppo obtained 27 ranks over the preceding year to hold the sixth position, followed by LG Refrigerators at seventh with 22 ranks over the 2020 report. The Hindi GEC, Sony Entertainment Television, has been ranked ninth this year despite an increasing consumption of TV content.
