Users of Jio Cinema have reported buffering issues despite having adequate internet connectivity.
The FIFA World Cup has officially begun, with the opening ceremony taking place at Qatar’s 60,000-capacity Al Bayt Stadium. Reliance Jio provides live broadcasting of the sports carnival in India via its free Jio Cinema app and website. However, many appear to be dissatisfied with the platform’s streaming quality, as it struggles to handle such a large load.
Users are complaining about buffering even when they have adequate internet connectivity. Twitter is crowded with fans commenting to the terrible streaming, with many complaining that their World Cup viewing experience has been spoilt. Jio, too, quickly acknowledged the problem that users were experiencing. Their team is working diligently to resolve the buffering difficulties, according to the statement.
Jio Cinema offers app updates.
Later, the platform provided a solution. It said on Twitter, “Dear JioCinema fans, We are constantly working to provide you with an excellent experience. To enjoy FIFA WorldCup Qatar 2022, please update your app to the most recent version. Sorry for any inconvenience.”
Users claim that the upgrade is useless.
However, the app did not appear to have made much of an improvement at the time of filing the story. Although a few users reported that their app was running smoothly on their device, the problem persists for many. At the time of filing this story at 11:00 p.m., fans were still complaining about streaming issues.

“… At 300 Mbps broadband connection, the picture is getting stuck again and again,” one customer wrote. It’s been a terrible experience…” “Hey don’t be silly and put this on fans,” another person tweeted. The stream buffers every 3 seconds in the browser and every 10-15 seconds in the mobile app (I have high speed broadband before you ask me). Following the opening ceremony! “Are you ready to manage a heavy match load?”
