Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday inaugurated the much-awaited Ashram flyover extension. After inaugurating, Kejriwal said, “Woes of people have ended, those coming from Noida can reach AIIMS sooner after the Ashram flyover extension opening.”
“Woes of people have ended, those coming from Noida can reach AIIMS (hospital) sooner after the Ashram flyover extension opening,” Kejriwal said.
Arvind Kejriwal also blasted the slow pace of construction during past years, claiming 27 flyovers had been erected during the government of his Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi while only 84 flyovers were completed in the last 65 years.
Vehicles today have to travel a long path to cross the road from Kilokari, but shortly, 150 meters away from Kilokari to Ring Road, vehicles will be able to cross the road by doing a U-turn to reach Maharani Bagh or south Delhi, after the opening of the Ashram flyover expansion.
Only light vehicles arriving from Gurugram, Chirag Delhi, Kalkaji, Khanpur, Greater Kailash, Saket, AIIMS, INA, Sadarjung, and Dhaula Kuan sides and traveling towards Sarai Kale Khan, Gaziabad, DND, Noida, and Trans-Yamuna regions are recommended to use the Ashram Flyover instead of Barapulla Flyover.

Vehicles driving from Maharani Bagh to Sarai Kale Khan, Noida, ITO, and Ghaziabad would not have to take extensive diversions. A subway for pedestrians is also being developed. The building work of the flyover expansion commenced in June 2020 after the project was authorized by the Cabinet.
