Mukesh Ambani emphasizes on the importance of a new digital revolution in India
The richest man in our country, Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries (RIL), said at the inauguration of the Indian Mobile Congress 2021 that our country needs to bring another digital revolution. He said, “our industry can take legitimate pride in the fact that we have democratized the mobile and digital revolution of India.
He added that India needs to complete the migration from 2G to 3G to 4G and now to 5G as soon as it can. He said, it would be unfair to keep millions of people on the bottom of the socio-economic pyramid, and with access to hardly 2G; that would be like depriving them of the benefits of the digital revolution.
In his speech, he congratulated on the inauguration of the Indian Mobile Congress 2021. He then went on to thank all the other people from the industry. He also thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing them with a platform where people from the industry can interact. He talked about how prestigious the organisation has become in such a short period. He also talked about the mass vaccination campaign that was phenomenally executed and said that India is ready to face any new wave of COVID, if it happens. He talked about how when lockdown was implemented, it was technology that kept life afloat.
He also points out that greater technology doesn’t necessarily means greater price. He said, “India should move towards greater digital inclusion, and not greater exclusion.” Adding more to it, he said Ubiquitous Fibre Connectivity should be completed across India on a mission mode, because in this “Digital First Era”, virtual is as important as real. His final idea was that, “beyond connectivity, we should focus on the critical components of the digital ecosystem.
