The exact date and time for the announcement of the IIM CAT 2021 results have yet to be announced. The IIM CAT 2021 was held this year on November 28, 2021, at 438 exam centres distributed across 156 cities in India. Furthermore, nearly 1.92 lakh students took the exam out of a total of 2.30 lakh registered eligible candidates.

IIM CAT 2021 percentile score calculation:

The steps outlined below are used to compute a candidate’s CAT 2021 overall and sectional percentile scores. The QA section is used as an example to demonstrate the percentile score calculating method.

In CAT 2021, a similar process is used to get the overall percentile score as well as the other two sections, DILR and VARC.

Step 1: Determine the total number of candidates (N) who took the CAT (i.e., including morning, afternoon, and evening sessions).

Step 2: Assign a rank (r) to each candidate who took the CAT based on their scaled scores in the QA section. If two or more applicants receive identical scaled scores in the QA section, award identical ranks to all of them.

As an example, if exactly two candidates receive the highest scaled score in the QA section, both of them are assigned a rank of 1. Furthermore, the candidate(s) with the second-highest scaled score in the QA portion receive a rank of 3, and so on.

Step 3: Determine a candidate’s percentile score (P) and rank (r) in the QA section.

Step 4: Round off a candidate’s determined percentile score (P) to the nearest two decimal points. For example, all percentile scores larger than or equal to 99.995 are rounded to 100, whereas all percentile scores greater than or equal to 99.985 but less than 99.995 are rounded to 99.99, and so on.

For the computation of the overall CAT percentile scores and the percentile scores of other sections, a methodology similar to the one described above is employed.
