The Tata Group and the Reliance Group have declared that they would be supporting the government’s struggles to boost production and supply of medical oxygen in the country to surmount its deficit and fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a tweet, the Tata Group on Tuesday stated it is “committed to doing as much as possible” to strengthen India’s fight against Covid-19. The group declared that it would be denoting 24 cryogenic containers to deport liquid oxygen to help overcome its shortage.
“PM Narendra Modi’s appeal to the people of India is approved and we at the Tata Group, are committed to working as hard as possible to reinforce the battle against Covid-19. To decrease the oxygen crisis, here is one such attempt to promote health. The Tata group is importing 24 cryogenic containers to deport liquid oxygen and help reduce the oxygen shortage in the country,” the Tata Group announced in a series of tweets.
Meantime, the Reliance Group has pledged to expand the supply of oxygen to over 700 tons per day to states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat where Covid-19 cases are increasing.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered an oration to the nation on the Covid-19 condition wherein he requested all regions of societies to come forward and commit to the battle against Covid-19.
In a report extracting sources, news agency PTI said Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Ltd has pinched manufacturing at its Jamnagar oil refineries to generate over 700 tonnes a day of medical-grade oxygen which is being supplied free of cost to states severely attacked by Covid-19.
The report said that Reliance’s Jamnagar refineries in Gujarat originally composed 100 tonnes of medical-grade oxygen, which has quickly been ramped up to over 700 tonnes.
The supplies being delivered to states like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will render relief to over 70,000 critically ill sufferers every day. The company intends to cultivate medical-grade oxygen production potential to 1,000 tonnes, PTI informed by the quoting sources.
It further added that Reliance will not be imposing states for the supply and shipping of oxygen and that this will be part of its CSR enterprise.
While state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) too have sprung averting oxygen generated at their refineries to extend the availability of medical oxygen in states worst tripled by Covid-19.
Indian Oil Corporation on Monday said it has inaugurated a supply of 150 tonnes of oxygen at no cost to several hospitals in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.
BPCL too said it has ignited a supply of 100 tonnes of oxygen at no cost.
