Suzlon, a supplier of renewable energy solutions, stated on Wednesday that it has received a large order from Torrent Power Limited, cementing its collaboration in the wind energy industry.
The contract is for the construction of a 300 MW wind power facility in Karnataka, India, using Suzlon’s new 3 MW class of wind turbines. The project is expected to be completed by 2025.
Suzlon will deploy 100 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a capacity of 3 MW each, accompanied by Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) towers, according to the deal. This is the sixth and biggest order for Suzlon’s 3 MW series in less than a month, demonstrating the rising demand for their innovative wind turbine technology.
Suzlon will be in charge of the whole project, including equipment supply, land allocation, and installation and commissioning. Upon completion of the project, the business will also offer extensive operations and maintenance services.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, expressed enthusiasm for the continued collaboration with Torrent Power Limited, stating, “Suzlon and Torrent have a long association of building several wind energy projects over the years. We are delighted to further strengthen this partnership with the deployment of our most powerful turbine technology via the new 3 MW series.”
Tanti also praised key Indian business houses for their efforts to push India’s renewable energy journey, emphasizing Suzlon’s commitment to assisting India Inc. in meeting their net-zero ambitions.
JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, highlighted the significance of the order, stating, “We are happy to announce our fourth order with the reputed Torrent Power Limited. It is always special when we get repeat orders from esteemed customers, which demonstrates their trust in Suzlon and its expertise.”
Chalasani stressed the market’s faith in Suzlon’s 3 MW series, as this order is the company’s biggest purchase to date, solidifying the product’s position in the industry. Suzlon’s worldwide research and development activities, he says, enable the product’s adaptation to Indian wind regimes.
Chalasani said that the project’s electricity will power utilities in numerous states, considerably promoting the country’s use of renewable energy.
