Noida-based Leverage Edu, a study abroad platform has secured a whopping $40 million in its Series C funding round led by the prestigious Princeton-based Language Testing conglomerate ETS known for its development and administration of standardized tests like TOEFL and GRE. Existing investors including Blume Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners, and Kaizenvest PE also participated in this funding round.
Sources reveal that this latest investment has propelled Leverage Edu’s valuation to a staggering $150 million marking a significant up-round of 35-40% compared to its Series B round last year which raised $22 million.
Leverage Edu has been on a funding spree as earlier in February 2021 the platform successfully raised $6.5 million in its Series A funding from prominent investors such as Blume Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners, and Tomorrow Capital among others. With this recent injection of capital, Leverage Edu has now accumulated over $70 million in equity funding across multiple funding rounds.
ETS is a renowned player in the language testing domain and has previously demonstrated its investment prowess by leading a $210 million funding round in upskilling unicorn upGrad effectively valuing the startup at approximately $2.25 billion. This background positions ETS as a valuable partner for Leverage Edu.

Leverage Edu boasts a remarkable network of over 650 university partners and claims to have received offers from more than 20,000 students. The platform’s popularity is evident as a majority of its student base chooses to pursue education in the UK followed closely by Canada and the US.
India with its substantial number of students seeking overseas education opportunities is a prominent market for study abroad platforms. While the sector is dominated by small enterprises spread across cities and towns, Leverage Edu faces competition from the likes of Leap which secured a significant $75 million funding round last year. Another competitor, UniScholars (formerly Adventum Student Living), also made a mark by raising $5 million in its Pre-Series B funding round last year.
