After a thorough countrywide search lasting three months, Shwetank Pandey, a 23-year-old native of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has been chosen as iQoo’s first Chief Gaming Officer.
Shwetank was selected as the winner from a field of more than 60,000 candidates, earning him a job as one of India’s youngest Chief Gaming Officers at iQoo.
For six months, Shwetank would be paid a salary of 10 lakh. He was chosen as a result of a thorough examination procedure that looked at things like game play, gaming knowledge, and personality and communication abilities.
Shwetank, a native of the sleepy Indian town of Kanpur and the son of a police officer, has always been an avid player with a strong preference for gaming and esports. Earlier in his career, in an unusual turn, he accepted a job for a whole year in order to earn money for a new phone so that he could play his favourite game, BGMI.
Expressing joy at becoming iQoo’s pioneering Chief Gaming Officer, Shwetank remarked, “I’m absolutely thrilled at the moment. When I initially filled out the application form, I was apprehensive and aspired to be among the finalists. Little did I know that this journey would take me this far and ultimately result in me becoming iQoo’s first-ever CGO. The fellow finalists I met in Mumbai were not only skilled gamers but also exceptional individuals. I’m grateful to have been chosen among them and extend my gratitude to iQoo and the judging panel for offering aspiring gamers like myself such an incredible platform.”
Nipun Marya, CEO of iQoo, said “This marks a significant moment in the Indian Smartphone industry, and we’re beyond excited to have found the individual who embodies our vision for this role. iQoo’s essence is encapsulated in ‘I Quest On and On,’ and Shwetank consistently displayed peak performance across all phases of the selection process. With his inclusion, we aim to infuse a dynamic and fresh perspective into our products and initiatives for the youthful gaming enthusiasts in the country. We’re all looking forward to having him on board and have full confidence in his ability to excel in fulfilling his designated responsibilities.”
After paying off his EMIs, he brazenly quit his work, turning down a promotion that would have resulted in a sizable pay rise. He went one step further and gave up his MBA programme, deciding to put his love of gaming above all other endeavours.
In addition to the Chief Gaming Officer position, iQoo has added two zonal CGOs to its burgeoning workforce. To plan, improve community participation, and guarantee an amazing gaming experience for iQoo customers, Aojesh Shrivastava from Delhi and Battu Nikhil Reddy (Shoutout YT) from Hyderabad will collaborate closely with Shwetank. For their crucial responsibilities, they would each be paid 2.5 lakh rupees.
Delhi-born Aojesh Shrivastava offers a thorough awareness of the regional gaming scene to his position. He is a great candidate to establish relationships and develop engaging experiences for gamers in the capital city and its surroundings because of his experience and passion.
