On Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Narendra Modi, paid a visit to the ancient Veerbhadra Temple in Lepakshi. He listened to the Ranganatha Ramayan and offered prayers. The temple’s relationship to the Ramayana is well-known. The famous Ramayana place where the “divine bird” Jatayu died while attempting to save Goddess Sita from the “demon king” Ravana.
The much-awaited pran pratishtha (consecration) event at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, is six days away from this visit.
The epic Ramayana attributes significance to Lepakshi because it is the site where Jatayu is supposed to have tried to prevent the demon king Ravan from kidnapping Goddess Sita.

PM Modi is expected to be present at the much-awaited Ram Mandir consecration ceremony on January 22. The public can visit the temple complex starting on January 23.
Ayodhya is humming with activity in anticipation of the impending huge event, and security measures have been tightened.
PM Modi’s two-day visit to Kerala and Andhra Pradesh
On his two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, Prime Minister Modi is expected to unveil several initiatives aimed at development. The International Ship Repair Facility at Cochin Shipyard Limited and the New Dry Dock are two of these.
He would pray at the Keralan shrines of Guruvayur and Thriprayar Shree Ramaswami on Wednesday.
The program will be followed by the opening of significant port, shipping, and waterway infrastructure projects.
Today is the official inauguration of NACIN’s new campus.
PM Modi will open the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics’ (NACIN) new campus on Tuesday while visiting the Sri Sathya Sai district in Andhra Pradesh.
Additionally, he will communicate with officer trainees from the Indian Revenue Service’s 74th and 75th batches (customs and indirect taxes).
He will also meet with officer candidates in the Bhutanese Royal Civil Service.
Prior to the opening, Ayodhya’s security was stepped increased.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) assumed control of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport security on Wednesday, with the consecration ceremony just days away.
To guarantee surveillance, 1,500 public CCTV cameras have been integrated into the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) around the city.
Also, police will strictly verify everybody they meet outside of the city and patrol the entire area.
