Aparna Gupta has been named as the company’s next Global Delivery Center (GDC) head, according to Microsoft. Gupta will be in charge of customer innovation and delivery excellence in her new job.
Microsoft Corporation is a global technology company based in Redmond, Washington. The Windows operating system, the Microsoft 365 suite of office programs, and the Edge web browser are among Microsoft’s most well-known software products.
The GDC arm was founded in Hyderabad in 2005 and focuses on delivering Industry solutions to Microsoft’s partners. It also contains Centers of Excellence (CoE) in app innovation, data and artificial intelligence (AI), infrastructure and security, and business applications. They also handle delivery and adoption management.
Gupta joined Microsoft six years ago as the Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) lead. She has made significant contributions to the company’s operations and led the formation of the Customer Success Unit (CSU).
“I am looking forward to working with the teams at GDC to deepen technical expertise across solution areas and build a strong team culture,” Gupta said, on her new appointment.
“We are delighted to announce Aparna’s elevation as the lead of GDC”, said Puneet Chandok, President, of Microsoft India, and South Asia. “Her extensive experience and deep knowledge of Microsoft technologies will help customers plan and deploy future-ready solutions, especially in the age of AI, and maximize the value of their investment in Microsoft. Her leadership will play a vital role in our continued success in the region and globally.”
What distinguishes Microsoft from other top IT businesses is its approach toward work-life balance and caring for people. Microsoft is a family-friendly company that provides equal paternity and maternity leave for parents, Wellness Leave (in addition to standard paid vacations and sick leave), and a significant emphasis on charity.
Microsoft has long been a community-oriented and generous company. They will compensate you for 40 hours of community work. Furthermore, they will give you money to contribute to organizations and will match your contributions up to a particular percentage (nearly 100). They even offer dashboards to assist you in donating; just choose your charity and click.
In terms of attitude, Microsoft has five main cultural factors that they keep in mind throughout the interview process: Growth attitude, diversity and inclusion, Values, and Manager Expectations.
Microsoft’s interview process isn’t as organized as that of other tech companies like Amazon, but it’s developing, and they’ve been improving their interview process in the last couple of years.
