On September 12, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal is expected to launch the remodeled Chandni Chowk market.
The postponed project, which was planned to be launched on April 17, is now going to be inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, on September 12, 2021.
One of the agencies concerned with the redevelopment work, the Public Works Department(PWD) has been called on to start preparing for the event of inauguration. The remodeled Chandi Chowk market is launching officially by Kejriwal. Confirming the preparation, a senior PWD official addressed, “We are preparing for it and completing the finishing touches.”Under this redevelopment ground plan, 1.3 km of area in Chandni Chowk, which falls between the Red Fort and the Fatehpuri Masjid, has been refashioned magnificently.
The area now facades an aesthetic look. It has a beautiful roadway festooned with red granite structures on either side, exquisite plant decorations with lights as one plod along the pedestrian-friendly area.
To preserve its serenity, the stretch has been declared as a ‘no-traffic zone for motorized vehicles from 9 am to 9 pm. According to the officials, work on the remodeling was set for December 2018 and was planned to be completed in March 2020. However, due to the pandemic, the plan was kept on hold until April this year which turned out to be postponed again as a consequence of the second-wave surge of Covid-19.
The project is finally set to be inaugurated on Sunday by our honorable Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister Of the Capital.
