Ashneer Grover of Shark Tank India has revealed why he buys secondhand automobiles. In a forthright interview, the billionaire admits that he frequently buys used automobiles rather than new models. He claims that if an old automobile is scraped on the road, it hurts less than if a new car is harmed. He says that he is bothered for more than a week if a new car is scuffed while driving.
The original interview has been edited into a short video on careerboardguy’s Instagram profile, where he can be seen talking about his passion for vehicles. Grover also discusses how other large billionaires bought sports/luxury cars after receiving funding for their enterprises.
He tells the story of Zomato creator Deepinder Goyal, who bought a Range Rover after obtaining investment, in the video. Grover also discusses his passion for sports cars and his desire to get one if the opportunity arises.
Currently, the co-founder of BharatPe company owns costly cars. Mercedes-Maybach S650, Mercedes-Benz GLS 350, Porsche Cayman S, and Audi A6 are among them.
Meanwhile, Ashneer Grover was paid 1.69 crores last year, while his wife, BharatPe’s head of controls Madhuri Jain Grover, was paid a total of 63 lahks in FY22, according to the company’s regulatory filing, as reported by Moneycontrol.
The financial startup did not reveal how much it received in share-based compensation in its regulatory filing. However, the company stated that it spent Rs70 crore on share-based payments, a 218% increase over the previous year.
The Grovers were fired from the company last year due to financial issues. Ashneer resigned from the corporation and its board of directors within days.
