Ashok Leyland has named Shenu Agarwal as the company’s new MD and CEO, effective immediately. He takes over for Vipin Sondhi, who is retiring in November 2021.
Mr. Agarwal will lead the company’s technology development, growth, and future strategy, according to a statement from the commercial vehicle manufacturer.
Mr. Agarwal was previously the president of Escorts Kubota Ltd. He was the CEO of agribusiness for more than seven years and was instrumental in transforming Escorts into a leader by introducing modern global standards of design, quality, and manufacturing, according to the company.
“With Shenu at the helm, Ashok Leyland’s focus on dependability, ambition to achieve global scale, and the constant pursuit of enhancing stakeholder value will be strengthened,” said executive chairman Dheeraj Hinduja.
“I look forward to working closely with all stakeholders and employees to accelerate Ashok Leyland’s vision of becoming one of the top ten CV manufacturers in the world,” Mr. Agarwal said.
