BSNL is presently offering the free BSNL 4G SIM service in Kerala circle, however, it is expected to extend the scheme to other circles as well.

Telecommunication service company BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is in the spotlight for offering free 4G SIM till December 31, 2021. The scheme was introduced by the government-owned company sometime back and is now finally launched for users wishing to get a first recharge coupon above Rs. 100.

BSNL to offer 4G SIM cards free of cost till December 31

BSNL 4G SIM card was available for users earlier at Rs. 20 which now would be provided free of cost. Also, the state-backed corporation is offering 4G SIM cards to the users who will port their SIM in BSNL from other networks providing the same service. This service was brought in by the telecom company in April which now stepped in the highlights for implementing the scheme officially.

BSNL is presently offering the free BSNL 4G SIM service in Kerala circle, however, it is expected to extend the scheme to other circles as well. It is reported that the 4G free SIM service can be availed from BSNL Customer Service Centers as well as from the company’s retail stores.

In BSNL’s additional updates, the company has stretched its promotional plan validity for its Rs. 699 plan for 90 days which delivered 180 days validity with its prepaid plan. The plan was short-lived as it was exhausted on September 28. However, as a part of its new promotional plan, BSNL has extended it for an additional 90 days. The BSNL 4G plan includes daily provided internet data of 500MB, unlimited calls and a hundred SMS a day. The telecom corporation has increased the promotional plan for 3 months.

BSNL is always witnessed coming up with affordable recharge plans and schemes. The state-run company offers user-friendly prepaid 4G data vouchers to deliver the high speed Internet accessibility to its users.

The most affordable BSNL 4G data voucher arrives at just Rs. 16 under the plan ‘Mini_16’. The 4G plan provides users with 2GB data for one day and if the data is not used within the time period, the plan expires. Following the voucher, there is another BSNL 4G voucher ‘C_DATA56’ which offers 10GB internet data to its users at Rs. 56 for ten days with additional benefit of a free subscription to Zing.BSNL also provides STVs (Special Tariff Vouchers) at different rates.

BSNL was in the spotlight around mid-September this year for its 4G network deployment by a strong emerging candidate TCS (Tata Consultancy Services). The opponent contenders like Tech Mahindra, HFCL, etc. anticipated the trials with Pertsol would be a failure. However, the government-backed R&D Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) along with Tejas Networks assured a better trial run for deploying BSNL 4G network.

With BSNL struggling in the telecom market, it is believed that the company can revive with its 4G network being developed to 5G. However, considering the present scenario, BSNL will be merged with a private entity for its survival in the market just what happened recently with national airline Air India which was sold to Tata Sons after it won a bid in the bidding round of the company sale.
