BYTES, an innovative startup focused on AI-powered Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for two-wheeler mobility, has announced its emergence from stealth mode with the successful acquisition of funding from Nikhil Kamath’s WTFund. As part of WTFund’s second cohort for 2024, BYTES has secured a ₹20 lakh non-dilutive grant aimed at accelerating its mission to enhance road safety through advanced artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies.

Established in August 2024 by entrepreneurs Prakhar Agrawal and Aayush Kumar, BYTES is committed to creating next-generation solutions aimed at solving the staggering statistics associated with road safety. Based on market research, more than 50 million road accidents are reported globally each year, where two-wheelers are responsible for 60% of accidents. Human errors are responsible for 90% of the accidents, signaling the urgent requirement for strong safety features to eliminate fatalities.

The investment will help BYTES introduce pilot programs in partnership with top two-wheeler original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The programs will enable the integration of BYTES’ AI safety systems into actual applications, proving the efficacy of the technology in enhancing rider safety. The advanced driver assistance system not only gives real-time warnings but also has the capability to take partial control of the vehicle in emergency situations, greatly minimizing the chances of accidents.

BYTES’ technology has the backing of leading institutions and programs, including IIMB’s NSRCEL, NVIDIA’s Inception Program, Microsoft for Startups, and the Wadhwani Foundation. This backing confirms the startup’s ability to cause a significant disruption in the arena of two-wheeler safety.

The firm imagines a world where every two-wheeler accident results in avoidable loss of life. By closing the safety gap with a scalable technology-led solution, BYTES looks to change the act of riding and overall safety of two-wheeler travel.

WTFund, which is renowned for granting funding, mentorship, and strategic connections, is pivotal in supporting startups such as BYTES to grow their impact. The addition of BYTES to the elite program not only vindicates its visionary strategy but also positions the startup to achieve noteworthy advances in the market.

As BYTES continues with its efforts, the prospects of enhanced road safety and lower accident rates in the two-wheeler segment appear bright. With the support of seasoned investors and a focus on using technology for safety, BYTES is poised to make a significant contribution toward solving the problems of riders on the road. This funding is an important milestone in the journey of the startup to emerge as a leader in the field of two-wheeler safety solutions.
