According to Suresh P. Manglani, CEO of Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL), a joint venture between Adani Group and TotalEnergies, more than 1,800 CNG stations would be built in the next seven to ten years.
“ATGL is spreading its footprints pan-India. Added to this number are 19 GAs with our JV- Indian Oil Adani Gas Private Limited (IOAGPL), we now have a presence in 124 districts,” Manglani added.
The firm has already finished installing 10,888 Inch-Km of steel pipeline, and in FY 2022–2023, they plan to build 1,951 Inch–Km more. Its footprint of CNG stations expanded to 460 with the installation of 126 during the previous year. 87 CNG stations out of 460 were Dealer Owned Dealer Operated (DODO) and Company Owned Dealer Operated (CODO).
The firm is expanding its products to include CNG, CBG, and EV charging in addition to growing its main business of gas distribution.
“The time is coming when we will have widened our portfolio of service to a range of clean fuels that address different applications for different consumers, reinforcing our positioning as a one-stop comprehensive service provider,” added Manglani.
To do this, ATGL established Adani TotalEnergies E-mobility Limited (ATEL), a fully-owned subsidiary. In different sites around the nation, ATEEL is currently putting up EV charging infrastructure for 2W, 3W, and 4W (including buses).
Adani TotalEnergies Biomass Limited (ATBL), a further owned subsidiary, will make use of India’s enormous potential for bio-mass-derived electricity.
“In addition to utilizing agricultural and livestock waste as feedstock, the company is also actively seeking opportunities in the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) segment to expand its CBG production footprint,” Manglani added.
At Barsana near Mathura in UP, ATEBL is presently constructing one of the biggest Compressed Biogas (CBG) facilities in India, with a future 600 TPD feedstock processing capacity.
CBG is appropriate for use and distribution inside the CGD network and integrates without difficulty with the ATGL’s current CGD play. At Varanasi, ATGL has opened its first CBG station.
A single platform dubbed SOUL would eventually house all of ATGL’s operations, the company said.
“It is a Digital Business Platform catering, inter alia, to all aspects of our CGD, EV, and our Biomass business. a. Connecting all our businesses with SOUL will lead to transformational efficiencies, enhancing business KPIs and optimizing cost continually setting newer benchmarks for the industry,” said Manglani.
