With the stirring growth in the past few months, Swiggy, an online food ordering and delivery platform is placing its development centre in Gurgaon, where the platform’s competitor, Zomato is headquartered. The company is constructing its development team for discharging its engineering, product, analytics, design, data science functions etc. After a poll led in the company’s engineering community, Gurugram was finalized as the place to put its development centre.
Considering the idea of setting up its development centre in Gurugram, Swiggy is planning to enhance its application and the strategies for serving a better experience for its users. In this regard, the company’s Chief Technology Officer, Dale Vaz said, “At Swiggy, we are committed to creating better, delightful experiences, not only for our customers but also for our vendors and restaurant partners.”
“The Gurugram development centre will augment our ‘restaurant tech platform capabilities’, allow us to experiment with new service offerings, and help us deliver a superior experience to our partners. We are excited to bring on the brightest engineers into our tech team,” added Dale Vaz.
Operations at the centre will be carried out by a small but efficient group of adept engineers. This group will be piloted by the company’s Vice-President-Engineering, Ashish Arora. He said that Gurugram has come out as the huge startup hub with top engineering colleges, embracing the talent and skills of the engineers. “Taking advantage of the talent pool, the team at our Gurugram development centre will comprise a mix of industry hires across levels, as well as some of our current Swiggy engineers who wish to work from the Gurugram office,” shared Arora.

It runs its mobile application, Swiggy App, which makes it easily accessible for users on their smartphones. The company established a health hub in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in March 2021.
