PM Narendra Modi on Saturday said that a futuristic and forward-looking education system was being created in the country through the new education policy (NEP).
“Through the new education policy, the country is for the first time preparing an education system which is forward-looking and futuristic,” were his words.
Modi while virtually addressing the 75th ‘Amrut Mahotsav’ of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul at Rajkot said that the number of premier education institutions like IIMs, IITs, and medical colleges have increased continuously after 2014, the year when his government came to power.
“You know very well that for the bright future of India, our existing education policy and institutes have a big role to play. Therefore, in this ‘amrit kaal’ of independence, whether it is educational infrastructure or education policy, we remain involved with greater speed and expansion,” he added.
The PM said that education has been the highest policy of this country while hailing India’s ancient education system like ‘gurukuls’. He added that the efforts of institutions like Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul will certainly be vital.
“Our gurukuls have been like a garden of equality, affection, and service for centuries. Universities like Nalanda and Takshashila used to be synonymous with the global glory of this gurukul tradition of India” were his words.
This futuristic and forward-looking education system in India will raise youths and citizens who will be able to make the country better and will be able to realize the dream of the nation.
