Google to upgrade its Chrome browser with two performance modes namely Energy saver and Memory saver.
As per the reports declared by The Verge, the new modular procedures of the Google Chrome browser will allow the user to ease the browser’s memory usage by up to 30 percent and improve the battery life while operating on low power mode.
Any surfing experience could be improvised by eliminating inactive tabs on the browser. Furthermore, users can also categorize essential web pages that don’t save memory to maintain the best performance. The Verge reports that when a device is running on Chrome and at 20% power, Power Saver mode maximizes the best battery life and reduces background activity and visual effects on pages heavy web with video and animation.
The dual performance modes of Google Chrome would be launched as a part of Chrome desktop and would be available throughout the globe. The upcoming modes could be utilized by launching from the settings menu.
Additionally, Google plans to merge the Waze mapping service team with the Maps team. Because search giants are faced with the need to streamline operations and reduce costs.
According to a spokesperson, Waze CEO Neha Parikh will be leaving the position following a transitional period. Google said it plans to keep Waze as a separate service and has no plans to do any layoffs as part of the overhaul.
This was Neha Parikh’s response to the merger of Waze and Google’s Geo organization.
“Google remains deeply committed to Waze’s unique brand, its beloved app, and its thriving community of volunteers and users,” the spokeswoman said in a statement.
