Google claims that its “most capable” AI model to date is Gemini, which debuted in the Bard chatbot.
The field of artificial intelligence is undergoing major upheavals, especially in language processing. There has been remarkable advancement in the creation of chatbots that more closely resemble human communication. Important participants in this rapidly developing sector include Google’s Bard, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and the rapidly rising Google Gemini AI.
The technological revolution started with text and has now expanded to include images, audio, and videos. Google is adopting a new model called Gemini to give its Bard AI chatbot a better understanding of these components. The first to use these enhanced AI functions will be Google Pixel 8 phone owners.
The New York Times reports that Google unveiled an enhanced iteration of its chatbot, Bard, on Wednesday. The improved bot, powered by the newest AI technology known as Gemini, is now available in more than 170 countries and can be accessed in English. Google’s continued dedication to progressing in the cutthroat field of chatbot development is demonstrated by this launch.
According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, “this is the beginning of the Gemini era,” in an interview. The company’s AI lab states, “It’s the realization of the vision we had when we set up Google DeepMind.” In the upcoming months, he added, Google would integrate three distinct iterations of the technology into a broad range of goods and services.
Gemini was hailed by Mr. Pichai and Demis Hassabis, the director of Google DeepMind, as a huge advancement in chatbot technology. They emphasized how much better it was able to produce precise answers and, in certain cases, even think like a human.
“Gemini’s performance has us incredibly pleased,” Dr. Hassabis declared.
The most powerful and adaptable AI model ever created:
Google claims in a blog post that Gemini, available in three sizes (Ultra, Pro, and Nano), is intended to function on a wide range of devices, including smartphones and data centers. Running on the Pixel 8 Pro, Gemini Nano is Google’s most efficient variant designed for on-device applications. Utilizing the power of Google Tensor G3, it is the first smartphone designed specifically for the Gemini Nano and offers two additional features: Condense in Gboard and Smart Reply in Recorder.
The Pixel 8 Pro version of Gemini Nano comes with a number of built-in benefits, including the ability to use features without a network connection and a mechanism to assist keep private information on the phone.
Early in the next year on Pixel, the larger family of Gemini devices will enable more features for the Assistant with Bard experience, in addition to Gemini Nano running on-device right now.
