Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar underlines the relevance of the Bhagavad Gita and hails Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s alignment with the concepts of ‘Gita governance’ during the International Gita Festival.
The Haryana Government, led by Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manohar Lal Khattar, has mandated that all children above class 6 learn the value education curriculum, which includes readings from the Bhagavad Gita, as part of the NEP 2020.
According to Financial Express, kids will learn lessons from the lives of Buddha, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, APJ Abdul Kalam Azad, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Sarojini Naidu, and Eklavya as part of the compulsory value education curriculum.
According to the FE report, three free books will be distributed to schools between December 18 and 22, one for each of the following grade levels: classes 6 and 7, classes 9 and 10, and classes 11 and 12.
According to the FE story, which cited sources acquainted with the inclusion of the Bhagavad Gita in the mandatory value education syllabus, the NEP 2020 committee chose to include teachings from the Bhagavad Gita because of its “potential to inspire and nurture moral character.” Some people feel that studying sacred literature will teach them courage, simplicity, discipline, politeness, devotion, focus, hard work, and success principles.
Haryana’s curriculum for state government schools has been reorganized to fit with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) presided over a seven-person group constituted to do this.
CM Manohar Lal Khattar remarked on Sunday at the International Gita Festival in Kurukshetra that the Gita is more than simply a book or text; it is the “essence of life; the Gita is universal and eternal.”
While addressing on the occasion, Khattar also stated that PM Modi is on the path of Lord Ram, while in his duties and actions, he is on the path of Lord Krishna.
CM Khattar was joined at the event by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. At the event, Chief Minister Khattar was described by Jagdeep Dhankhar as a “true follower” of the Gita. While Khattar’s identification as a chief minister is charming to the people, the vice president stated that he is known for honesty, justice, and accountability.
Dhankhar stressed the central government’s connection with the concepts of “Gita governance” during the ceremony.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to morality and duty, emphasizing the significance of fulfilling tasks without regard for the outcome, as advised in the Gita.
