Apple users are in danger! According to media sources, the Indian government issued a high-severity warning to Apple customers, alerting them of various vulnerabilities that might allow attackers to take control of their devices.
The vulnerability is in the WebKit browser engine, which is used by Safari and other browsers, according to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, which is part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. It is available in Apple goods such as iPhones and watches.
“These vulnerabilities exist in Apple products due to a certificate validation issue in the Security component, an issue in the Kernel, and an error in the Webkit component,” the CERT-IN stated in an official statement. An attacker might take advantage of these flaws by submitting specially crafted queries.”
The following devices are among those affected:
1) Versions of Apple iOS before to 16.7 and iPadOS prior to 16.7
2) Versions of Apple macOS prior to 12.7
3) Versions of Apple WatchOS previous to 9.6.3
4) Previous versions of Apple iOS and iPadOS (before to 17.0.1).
5) Versions of Apple Safari previous to 16.6.1
6) Versions of Apple macOS Ventura before to 13.6
7) Versions of Apple WatchOS previous to 10.0.1
Users who want to protect their personal data should immediately upgrade their devices to the most recent watchOS, tvOS, and macOS versions, according to the national nodal authority that oversees cybersecurity concerns across many releases.
Attackers may be able to get access to Apple watches, TVs, iPhones, and MacBooks if software flaws are not addressed, according to media sources. The necessary Apple updates are also available on the official website, cert-in.org.in, to remedy this issue.
