Adani Enterprises Ltd. informed Indian stock exchanges on Monday that its subsidiary Vishvapradhan Commercial Private Limited (VCPL) had received a letter from the promoter company of news organization New Delhi Television Ltd. (NDTV) confirming the transfer of shares making up 99.5% of its equity capital to VCPL. In its exchange statement, Adani Enterprises Ltd. stated: “We thus tell you that RRPR Holding Private Limited (“RRPR”) (via its lawyer) has received a letter dated November 28, 2022, confirming to issue equity shares constituting 99.5% of its equity capital to VCPL on November 28, 2022.

After this communication exchange, NDTV released the following statement to Indian stock exchanges: “NDTV has been informed by the Promoter Group vehicle RRPR Holding Private Limited (RRPRH) that the Board of Directors at the meeting held today, i.e., November 29, 2022, have approved: 1. The appointment of Mr. Sudipta Bhattacharya (DIN: 0006817333), Mr. Sanjay Pugalia (DIN: 0008360398), and  Mr. Senthil Sinniah Chengalvarayan (DIN: 02330757), as Directors on the Board of RRPRH, with immediate effect; and 2. Resignation of Dr. Prannoy Roy (DIN: 00025576) and Mrs. Radhika Roy (DIN: 00025625) as Directors on the Board of RRPRH, with effect from the close of business hours of November 29, 2022.”

The stock has been rising since the news broke that the Adani Group had acquired NDTV, a news broadcasting firm. The price of an NDTV share has increased dramatically over the past month, rising from about $322 to $446.30 per share, an almost 40% increase. The company has given its stockholders a multi-bagger return after rising to a record high of $573 per share in September 2022. The NDTV share price has increased year to date from about 115 to 446.30 per piece, indicating a 300 percent increase in 2022.
