The forthcoming new year seems to offer excitement to vehicle aficionados in India, with numerous attractive car launches planned for the first month of 2024. Leading Korean automakers Kia and Hyundai are poised to introduce two models in January in what seems to be a key year for the Indian automobile business.
Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury vehicle powerhouse, is entering the lineup with its first introduction of the year, adding to the frenzy. Let’s take a quick look at the vehicles that will be available next month.
Kia Sonet 2024 Facelift
The Korean carmaker is expected to take the lead by announcing the price introduction of its popular models, including the 2024 Sonet facelift. This SUV’s deliveries are slated to begin in mid-January, with price information set to be revealed by the second week of the month. Bookings for the new Sonet started earlier this month, with a deposit of Rs. 25,000 required.
In terms of powertrain, the Sonet facelift SUV comes in seven variations, with both petrol and diesel engines. These variations are available with six different engine and gearbox combinations. Buyers may choose from 11 exterior colors, including two dual-tone choices and a unique matte black variant exclusive to the X-Line trim. The redesigned Kia Sonet will fight in the subcompact sector once again, taking on competitors like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV300.
2024 Hyundai Creta
The enormously popular small SUV is set to make a huge impression in the New Year when it debuts a new look on January 16. Hyundai is expected to make various changes to the 2024 Creta, including revised styling, new amenities, and more. Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Skoda Kushaq, among others, will compete with the redesigned Creta SUV.
There is little information known about the upcoming Creta 2024 SUV; nonetheless, some spy images have revealed important elements. On the outside, expect a redesigned grille, new LED headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), linked LED taillights, and a new alloy design.
Interior upgrades for the Creta 2024 are expected to include a new steering wheel layout, an improved digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, seat ventilation, and other amenities. Furthermore, for the first time, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology is scheduled to be introduced.
Facelift Mercedes GLS 2024
The German luxury automobile maker is set to deliver the first vehicle of the year. Mercedes-Benz is slated to debut the GLS facelift SUV on January 8, using the identical version that was shown earlier this year in several worldwide markets.
The GLS facelift will have various exterior changes, including a redesigned front fascia, revised headlamp units, and a reworked bumper. The alloy wheels will be altered as well. The adoption of the newest MBUX user interface in the GLS facelift is one of the most notable interior modifications. While the powertrain is likely to stay the same as the 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine, a 3.0-liter petrol engine might be available as an option.
