Apple may increase or treble its investments and exports to India in the coming years, according to a minister, as the corporation opens a second shop in the world’s largest mobile phone market.
Apple is a technology firm based in the United States that designs develops and distributes consumer goods, computer software, and internet services. Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne launched the firm in 1976, and it has since become one of the most valuable corporations in the world. Apple is recognized for its revolutionary products, such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, and it is also a digital music leader with its iTunes and Apple Music services.
One of the biggest differences between Apple and its rivals is its emphasis on design and user experience. The company’s products are noted for their elegant and straightforward user interfaces, which make them accessible to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Apple’s attention to detail extends to its actual goods, with high-quality materials and exquisite workmanship shown on the company’s gadgets.
Apple is a software development leader in addition to its hardware goods. The iOS and macOS operating systems form the backbone of the Apple ecosystem and are noted for their reliability, security, and simplicity of use. Apple has also invested heavily in artificial intelligence and machine learning, which are fueling new features and capabilities throughout its product range.
Apple mostly assembles iPhones via contract manufacturers in India but aims to expand into iPads and AirPods.
“I am very confident that this Apple-India partnership has a lot of headroom for investments, growth, exports, and jobs doubling and tripling over the coming years,” deputy information technology minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar told Reuters.
His remarks came following a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook in the Indian capital, New Delhi, on Wednesday. Cook, who met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well, said that Apple is “committed to growing and investing across the country.“
On Thursday, he opened an Apple store in New Delhi, only two days after the company opened its first store in Mumbai, India’s commercial center.
“We’ve come here only to see Tim Cook,” said Manika Mehta, 32, an Android phone user who waited in line at the Delhi shop in support of her husband, an Apple lover.
As in Mumbai, some 500 people came for Cook’s short presence, during which he interacted with fans and took photos.
Cook’s visit has received enormous media attention, and he has been treated like a Bollywood celebrity, with some individuals attempting to touch his feet in a customary mark of respect, while others sought his signature.
Apple has been attempting to expand its production base in India to minimize its dependency on China. Taiwanese contract electronics giants Foxconn and Wistron Corp. build their goods, including iPhones, in India.
