Infosys, a global IT company and Microsoft have participated in a multi-year strategic engagement with Ausgrid to spur the cloud transformation of the largest electricity distributor on Australia’s east coast.

The deal will incite Ausgrid’s vision to connect communities and empower lives, piloting the focus on affordability, reliability, and sustainability. 

Ausgrid’s Chief Information Officer, Nick Crowe said, “With over 4 million Australians relying on our services every day, it is essential we are maintaining our high standard of reliability and connectivity, as well as delivering on the expectations of Australian communities. Accelerating our cloud transformation journey in partnership with Infosys and Microsoft allows us to improve the reliability of the network, keep downward pressure on electricity prices and bring new services to market at speed and in a cost-effective manner.”

The cloud transformation is the core element for Ausgrid in the view of enhancing its security, agility, and resilience of business performance. Infosys informed that this plan is sketched out in order to bring down the ownership cost of Ausgrid and upgrade the company’s performance of its information technology systems. 

Contributing to this arrangement, Infosys and Microsoft are cushioning Ausgrid to deal with the challenges by reforming and enhancing IT infrastructure. The transformation project was brought in 2020, aiming at strong competence in the utility industry.
