JBM auto on Wednesday launched India’s first electric luxury coach, JBM Galaxy, at Auto Expo 2023.
Expanding the company’s share in the emerging electric vehicle segment, JBM Auto Vice Chairman Nishant Arya said- ”The new range of electric buses will address the growing market requirements, especially the fleet owners, who are looking for sustainable, safe, reliable and profitable solutions.”
“This launch completes our product offering in the commercial passenger segment that will contribute to sustainable and efficient public transport across the country,” the Vice Chairman added.
However, the company did not disclose the price of the vehicle.
The company in a press release said that the launch marks a historic shift for the Coach industry which is so far being dominated by foreign players.
The coaches have high floors and are equipped with modern utilities like Wi-Fi, mobile charging ports, and reclining seats. The coach offers a seating capacity of 45 passengers. It is equipped with a high energy density lithium-ion battery and is offering a range of up to a thousand kilometers per day said in a press release.
Currently, 1000 electric buses are plying in 12 states. “JBM group is the only player in the Indian market to offer an entire EV ecosystem and is committed to investing in green mobility solutions,” Arya added.
The company is currently trading at ₹531.65 in the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and at ₹531.45 in National Stock Exchange (NSE).
