Users may now add links to their profiles on the mobile app, alter their titles, and rearrange the order in which they appear thanks to this new upgrade. Instagram biographies can now contain up to five links, as CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg stated on his Instagram channel on Tuesday. This feature has been hotly demanded by users. Users can now edit their profiles on the mobile app, add links, and change the order in which they appear by giving them titles.
However, if users add more than one link, site visitors will still need to click through a popup that reads, “[Your first link] and 1 other” in order to see the whole list of connections. This means that visitors will need to click on more links if they wish to showcase many links on their Instagram profile or if they already utilize a “Link in bio” service like Linktree.
To refresh your memory, you must tap the “Edit profile” icon located above your photo grid and highlights in order to add a link to your Instagram profile. Instagram will now prompt users to add additional connections after the upgrade. Although Meta’s interface for showing these links may not be the most visually appealing, it is practical and does the job.
The new tool is a useful addition to Instagram despite this restriction. As a result, users who are considering leaving Twitter Social media platform in the wake of Elon Musk’s takeover may find the platform more alluring. By providing paid verification, Meta also seems to have drawn influence from Twitter, but Meta’s version goes beyond just Twitter Blue to include benefits like direct access to customer support.
