On the 2nd day of Auto Expo 2023, Maruti Suzuki India Limited unveiled two new SUVs- the all-new Fronx crossover SUV and the Jimny 5-door SUV. The brand has started the booking of Fronx and Jimny SUVs from today. Interested customers can pre-book the car from the official website or at the nearest Nexa showroom.
At the Auto Expo 2023 while unveiling the products, Hisashi Takeuchi, MD and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India said that the company’s medium-term goal has been to get 50% market share and secure the number-one position in the SUV segment.
Specifications of Jimny:
The five door Jimny is powered by a 1.5 Litre petrol engine. Jimny comes with both manual and automatic transmission gearbox options. It is built on the four essentials of an off-road machine- ladder frame chassis, ample body angles, 3-link rigid Axle suspension and ALLGRIP PRO (4WD) with low range transfer gear (4L mode). The ALLGRIP PRO Offers extreme off-road ability to meet the drivers’ spirit of adventure.
Measuring 3,985mm in length and with a wheelbase of 2,590mm, the Jimny 5-door’s wheelbase is 340mm longer than the 3-door model. It has a width of 1,645mm and a height of 1,720mm.
Jimny comes with a 22.86cm (9”) Smart Play Pro+infotainment system with HD display and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The all-new Jimny comes with premium sound acoustic tuning through “surround sense” powered by “ARKAMYS”.
Safety features include six airbags, rear view camera, Hill descent control, ESP with Hill hold assist and ABS with EBD.
The SUV will be available in seven colour options including 5 mono tone shades and 2 dual tone options.
