New Delhi, April 28 (IANS) – An e-commerce start-up has launched in India. According to the company, Meesho has acquired over 100 million transacting users on its platform in the last year.

Start-up in e-commerce Meesho announced on Thursday that it has acquired over 100 million transacting users on its platform in the last year.

The company stated that the platform’s transacting user base has increased by approximately 5.4 times and gross merchandise value (GMV) has increased by approximately 3 times since March 2021, without providing specific figures.

“Meesho has achieved significant growth in the field of e-commerce in a relatively short period of time.” We were the first to reach 100 million active users. “With nearly 80% of demand coming from tier 2+ cities, our vision to democratize e-commerce for everyone is truly coming to life,” said Utkrishta Kumar, CXO – Business at Meesho.

Meesho reported an 85 percent increase in seller registrations since April 2021, as well as a threefold increase in average seller revenue.

According to the statement, nearly 70% of all Meesho sellers are from tier 2+ cities such as Hisar, Panipat, and Tiruppur, among others.
