Meesho, an e-commerce site funded by Softbank, claims to have had a 68% increase in sales during its five-day holiday sale, which resulted in almost 3.34 crore orders, the business stated on Thursday. From September 23 to 27, there was a live Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale.

“Customers placed a record about 3.34 crore orders during the five-day event, up 68% over the previous year’s sale,” Meesho said in a statement. “They were shopping for a wide range of products at the lowest costs.”
Orders came in from Leh and other small towns and cities, as well as Una in Himachal, Chimakurthy in Andhra Pradesh, Kalimpong in West Bengal, Bharuch in Gujarat, and Una in Himachal.
According to Meesho’s founder and CEO Vidit Aatrey, “almost 80% of orders during the festive sale came from tier 2 and beyond markets, which is a testament to our efforts to reach underserved people with varied needs regarding selection and cost.”

The highest growth category at Meesho during this year’s sale was “kitchen utilities,” which saw a 16% rise in sales. Luggage and travel accessories climbed by 99%, while beauty and personal care increased by 11%.
Fashion, home and kitchen, technological accessories, and beauty and personal care were the top-selling categories. The business announced that Meesho’s Maha Diwali Sale will run from October 7 to October 11.
In the release, it was stated that Meesho aimed to become the preferred shopping destination for the next billion Indians. “With close to 8 lakh vendors and over 6.5 crore active product listings across 30 categories,” it was stated.
