Meta’s recent quarterly report showcases statistics, for its suite of applications, such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads. These apps collectively boast 3.88 billion active users representing nearly half of the global population actively engaging with Metas platforms. Moreover, Facebook has witnessed a resurgence, in users now reaching a staggering 2.064 billion individuals. This growth can be attributed in part to the success of Reels and the promising rise of Threads—a text-oriented platform that amassed 100 million users within an astonishing five-day span.
According to Metas report, Facebook boasts an impressive number of, over 3 billion monthly active users. While it’s true that the platform has lost some popularity among individuals it is far from being obsolete. When considering Meta’s suite of apps including WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and the introduced Threads, the combined monthly active user count reaches a staggering 3.88 billion individuals. This accounts for half of the world’s population.
Aside from these milestones what’s perhaps even more significant for Meta and its investors is the continuous growth in daily active users. Facebook now has 2.064 billion users marking an increase from the previous quarter’s figure of 2.037 billion. This upward trajectory is crucial because Facebook experienced a decline in daily active users during the final quarter of 2021.
One factor contributing to this growth could be Reels – a feature introduced by Meta as a response to TikTok’s success – which has been heavily promoted across Instagram and Facebook platforms. According to Mark Zuckerberg, Meta CEO Reels amass 200 billion plays per day across their family of apps.
Zuckerberg also expressed satisfaction, with Threads – a text-based platform integrated with Instagram – indicating that it is performing well.
“I must say the future ahead looks incredibly promising, to me ” Zuckerberg expressed with an enthusiasm that hasn’t been as evident, in earnings calls especially when Meta experienced concerning revenue declines. ” from the start we witnessed the growth and what is even more remarkable is the number of people returning daily surpassing my expectations.”
Within five days Threads garnered a user base of 100 million individuals. Of course, it’s expected that not all of them will actively engage in posting on Threads. However, Zuckerberg shared week that there are “tens of millions of people who return daily ” which’s undeniably remarkable.
