A fire in a firecracker factory in Bairagarh village, Harda district, Madhya Pradesh, resulted in at least 11 fatalities and 60 injuries. According to reports, the number of workers who remain fearful of being trapped on the grounds is projected to increase. For rescue operations, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been sent to the location.
A large fire that started in a fireworks factory in the Madhya Pradesh town of Harda on Tuesday left seven people dead and sixty-five injured. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, spoke with the relevant officials and inquired about the specifics of the occurrence.
An officer at the Harda district hospital in the state of Madhya Pradesh stated, “We can confirm seven deaths so far,” requesting anonymity because they were not permitted to speak to the media. “We have 65 injured patients admitted here and have referred 10 others to a bigger hospital.” According to AFP.
It was also thought that there were several people trapped in and around the apartment.
Social media users shared videos of the incident that showed the fire, people scrambling to safety, and sporadic explosions occurring at the scene.
Harda Collector Rishi Garg had earlier informed news agency PTI that the fire at the crackers facility had left three people dead and forty injured.
He claimed that many persons were believed to be trapped inside and outside the unit. According to an official, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav spoke with the relevant officials and asked for more information on the occurrence.
The chief minister also ordered minister Uday Pratap Singh, director general of home guard Arvind Kumar, and additional chief secretary Ajit Kesari to take a chopper to Harda. According to the official, burn units at the AIIMS in the state capital, and hospitals in Bhopal, and Indore have been instructed to make the appropriate preparations for any emergency.
To put out the fire, fire departments from Bhopal and Indore were also dispatched. The official further stated that a meeting has been convened by the chief minister in relation to the event.
Nearby structures are also enveloped in fire.
A succession of explosions were caused by the manufacturing fire, which also spread outside the building. The factory fire has spread to nearby buildings as well, according to reports.
Authorities are on the site to assess the situation, and many fire tenders have been called into action to contain the fire, according to officials.
