According to the sources; the reason behind the leadership change at Tata Digital is differences of opinion on how to scale the new internet businesses. Reports also suggests Mukesh Bansal is also planning to start a new venture of his own; although plans are still in nascent stage.
According to a source, Tata Digital’s President Mukesh Bansal has stepped down from his daily operation’s related duties of Tata Neu. Mukesh Bansal who joined Tata Digital as its president in June 2021; has earlier co-founded fashion etailer Myntra and health tech startup CureFit. Mr. Mukesh joined Tata Digital as a part of the $75 million acquisition terms signed between CureFit and Tata group.
Sources says Mukesh Bansal has stopped monitoring and directing key aspects and operations of Tata Neu. However, he’ll continue working as an advisor. Meanwhile, Pratik Pal; the CEO of Tata Digital will manage and direct all the operations at Tata Digital. Reports also suggested that Tata Digital is very focused on a “growth-at-all-cost” plan and wants to take care of its unit economics at the same time.
