On Thursday, in partnership with SBI Card, the leading fintech company Paytm unveiled its second credit card. With the National Payments Council of India’s (NPCI) RuPay, the business has collaborated for the first time. This cooperation has been dubbed a “Killer combo” by Paytm’s founder and chief executive, Vijay Shekhar Sharma.
According to the business, as a welcome bonus, it grants clients exclusive advantages worth up to Rs 75,000 along with a free Paytm First Membership that also includes access to OTT platforms and price breaks on travel tickets through the Paytm app.
The cards, which were created for the technologically adept, give points and savings when used on the Paytm App and millions of online and offline retailers.
The Paytm SBI Card offers 3% cashback for movie and travel ticket purchases made through the Paytm app, 2% cashback for all other Paytm App transactions, and 1% cash back for all other purchases, according to a statement from the firm.
We are thrilled to work with Paytm, said Praveena Rai, COO of NPCI, during the launch ceremony in Mumbai.
Rupay from NPCI has changed the game! RuPay and NPCI have been leading the charge for financial inclusion, which encompasses consumer convenience, reach, and accessibility. We will thus ride this wave with RuPay together with SBI Card. Vijay Shekhar Sharma predicted that this would be a significant jump.
Rama Mohan Rao Amara, MD & CEO of SBI Card, who was also present at the event, was one of the other people Sharma spoke with and with whom he had a chat. “Rao is receiving calls on the business’s customer support line asking for a RuPay card,” he added. In light of that, our collaboration with RuPay will be a lethal combination that speaks volumes about its success.
