Sandhya Devanathan will be responsible for aligning the organization’s business and revenue priorities, reporting to Dan Neary, vice president, of Meta APAC, and serving on the APAC executive team.
Sandhya Devanathan, the new CEO of Facebook-parent Meta India, was named on Thursday. The hire comes about a week after Ajit Mohan, Meta India’s country head, quit working for rival Snap. Abhijit Bose, the CEO of WhatsApp India, and Rajiv Aggarwal, Meta India’s director of public policy, have also left the company.
Manish Chopra, Director and Head of Partnerships for Facebook India (Meta), is in control of the business in the meantime.
Devanathan will align the organization’s business and revenue priorities, report to Dan Neary, vice president, of Meta APAC, and serve on the APAC executive team. She will return to India to manage the India organization and strategy after taking on her new post on January 1, 2023.
Devanathan will spearhead the company’s India mission and deepen strategic connections with the country’s biggest brands, artists, and marketers, among others, as part of her job.
Devanathan has 22 years of experience in banking, payments, and technology. She joined Meta in 2016 and has contributed to the growth of the Singapore and Vietnam businesses and teams, as well as Meta’s Southeast Asian e-commerce initiatives.
“India is at the forefront of digital adoption, and Meta has introduced several of our top products in India early, such as Reels and Business Messaging.” We have recently launched JioMart on WhatsApp, India’s first end-to-end purchasing experience. “I’m delighted to welcome Sandhya as our new India head,” said Marne Levine, Meta’s chief business officer.
