Surajkund Mela 2024: The annual fair organized by Haryana Tourism in Faridabad to promote the tradition of Indian handloom and handicrafts began on Friday, February 2. According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan announcement, President Droupadi Murmu will launch the event.

Surajkund Mela 2024 runs from 10:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. Over 20 countries will participate in the event, including those from South Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Significance
Surajkund, meaning ‘Lake of the Sun,’ is historically significant. The mela is named after Surajkund Lake, an old reservoir built by King Suraj Pal of the Tomar dynasty in the 10th century. To increase tourism in the state of Haryana, the Haryana government established the Surajkund International Craft Mela, which is held every February. The event attracts both national and international attendees. This fair offers a wide variety of attractions for people of all ages. More than 20 South Asian, African, and European countries have actively participated.

Surajkund International Craft Mela tickets cost ₹120 during the weekdays (Mon-Fri). The weekend admission fee is ₹180 for both Saturday and Sunday. Furthermore, school and college students can receive a 50% discount on entry tickets during the week if they provide a valid ID card when purchasing tickets.
Senior citizens, those with disabilities, and military personnel are all eligible for a 50% discount on entry tickets.
