10 storytellers will get a chance to attend the workshop by the industry leaders and then make a fully-funded short film.
Great stories can happen anywhere, anytime. Great stories are the ones that you have heard and want to hear again and again. With the same belief, Film Companion and Netflix came up with an initiative known as Take Ten which will be a platform for the storytellers to present their own stories. It is a short film initiative to support emerging filmmakers across the country from different backgrounds.
With Take Ten, 10 storytellers will be provided an opportunity of a lifetime and a chance to attend a 6-day workshop that will be conducted by the best of the people from the business. Later, they will be provided funds to make their own short films which will be posted on the youtube channel of Netflix India. They are looking for some amazing content without any age restriction, experience, region, or language. A content that is rooted in India.
Award Winning talented storytellers like Hansal Mehta (Scam 1992, Aligarh, Citylights), Juhi Chaturvedi (Piku, October, Gulaabo Sitabo), Abhishek Chaubey (Sonchariya, Udta Punjab, Ishqiya), Neeraj Ghaywan (Masaan, Ajeeb Dastaans) and Guneet Monga (Period of End Sentence, Pinni, Pagglait) will be mentoring the 10 selected storytellers on their journey and will add value in the fields of writing, production, direction etc.
“Take Ten is a celebration of storytelling and originality. The workshop and competition aim to be inclusive and showcase the diverse voices behind and in front of the camera in India,” said Anupama Chopra, who is leading the project, in one of her interviews.
Applications are open till 7th February, 2022. One can apply at www.taketen.in . To enter in the journey, one must submit a short film of one to two minutes based on the topic ‘My India’, which can be shot on phone. The film shall represent who the individual is as a filmmaker.
