This season, major manufacturing companies are flocking to engineering, business, and other undergraduate colleges amid the government’s continued efforts to expand activity in this field.
Companies such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, RPG Group, and Dabur will hire more on campus this year than last year, according to management, according to HR leaders. We are considering strengthening our digital and tech talent channels.
In the 2021-2022 fiscal year, automaker Maruti Suzuki employed approximately 600 graduate and graduate campuses. This year, that number will be even higher.
“We are looking to hire about 700 to 800 graduates and postgraduates from campuses this fiscal,” said Rajesh Uppal, a member of the automaker’s executive board.
“The Automobile Companies are undergoing a huge transformation in terms of technology, and this has created several new profiles. With already existing talent and new hires, we aim to fill these job roles,” Uppal said.
Tata Steel is recruiting from engineering and management agencies and is adding a new campus to this year’s roster. A spokesperson said in an email response that the focus is on creating a stable talent stream for Tata Steel.
RPG Group, which primarily employs its Tier-1 management and engineering campuses, will hire staff from top math, statistics, and technology institutions this year, said Chief Talent, Officer Supratik Bhattacharya. The final number of
Dabur India campuses have not yet been determined, but according to the company’s Chief Human Resources Officer Biplub Baxi, the company is expected to hire 10-20% more than the previous year.
Accommodation on top engineering and management campuses is consistent with this trend. “Manufacturing offers are expected to increase at a significant rate this year compared to last year,” said Kaushik Pal, professor of employment and internships at IIT-Roorkee.
IIM-Kozhikode said Suzuki hired an intern on campus for the first time this year for the summer. Bhawana Bhishm Chugani, Director of Career Services at SPJIMR, said overall consulting and FMCG were at the forefront, but manufacturing companies’ interest increased.
“Digital transformation is happening in a big way in manufacturing firms and they are looking for talent to drive that,” said Chugani.
