Twitter will soon introduce a payment program for verified content creators, according to Elon Musk, the owner of the company. Musk stated that the first payment block will amount to approximately $5 million. However, it is important to note that only verified creators will be eligible for this program, and the ads will only count when they are served to verified users. Musk, who purchased Twitter in October of last year, made this announcement via a tweet.
Since Elon Musk acquired Twitter, the platform has faced challenges in retaining advertisers. Advertisers have been cautious about where their ads are placed due to the company’s significant layoffs. Twitter’s new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, an advertising veteran from NBCUniversal, is set to take charge of the social media platform.
In March, Musk mentioned that the messaging service currently generates approximately 5 or 6 cents per hour of user attention. He expressed the possibility of increasing this figure to 15 cents or more by implementing more relevant and timely advertisements.
