PW had previously acquired Indian companies such as online medical entrance examinations coaching platform PrepOnline and exam preparation books publisher Altis Vortex, as well as doubt-solving and resource management company FreeCo and upskilling startup iNeuron.ai.
PhysicsWallah (PW), India’s sole profitable edtech unicorn, said on March 20 that it has acquired Knowledge Planet in the United Arab Emirates for an unknown sum, marking the former’s first foreign acquisition.
Previously, the business purchased Indian enterprises such as the online medical entrance examinations coaching platform PrepOnline and exam preparation books publisher Altis Vortex, as well as the doubt-solving and resource management startup FreeCo and the upskilling startup iNeuron.ai.
Although PW will use Knowledge Planet’s school relationship apparatus to reach students in the UAE, Knowledge Planet will benefit from PW’s tech stack to boost its online and hybrid offerings, according to a release.
PW also announced that it will provide SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) preparation classes throughout the Middle East for students wishing to study abroad.
The business also expects the purchase would bring a $250 million offline test prep market for the region’s Indian diaspora for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET).

Knowledge World, founded in 2011 by Monika Oli and Sachin Bharti Gupta, offers test preparation and instruction for important competitive examinations such as JEE and NEET.
PW stated that by partnering with Knowledge Planet, it will be able to broaden the reach of its existing batch products. PW also stated that it intends to extend offline outside the Middle East, to nations such as Egypt and Turkey.
