Cairn Oil & Gas, a division of Vedanta Ltd, announced on Thursday that it is appointing Nick Walker as CEO effective January 5, 2023. company. Previously with BP, Talisman Energy and Africa Oil, he has 30 years of international experience in technical, commercial and management roles.

Walker will lead all aspects of Cairn’s strategy, including developing strategic alliances with global partners to accelerate the business. He will lead the adoption and deployment of best-in-class oil and gas technologies and processes, with a focus on innovation and digitization to transform the business.
Cairn Oil & Gas aims to increase domestic oil and gas production in India, secure 50% of India’s production and increase reserves and resources.
As one of the fastest growing economies, India aims to achieve energy independence through a significant reduction in oil imports, which now account for 85% of the country’s consumption.
Vedanta Cairn Oil & Gas accounts for more than a quarter of India’s domestic crude oil production and currently owns 62 fields in India.
