Bengaluru: Dealshare, a social commerce startup that joined the unicorn club earlier this year, has named Venkatesh Tarakkad as its new chief financial officer (CFO), according to a company statement. Unicorns are privately held companies with a market capitalization of $1 billion or more.
Tarakkad has over 25 years of experience in industries such as retail, FMCG, and e-commerce. He previously worked as the CFO of logistics startup Ecom Express, as well as for companies such as EY and Coca-Cola. He will be in charge of Dealshare’s finances and supply chain operations.
“We are in an exciting period for our company as we rapidly scale our operations, expand into new markets, and empower local communities and manufacturers.” Vineet Rao, founder and CEO of DealShare, said, “Venkatesh’s addition will strengthen the leadership team, and his extensive experience will help us chart out a strategy that enables us to augment and sharpen the unit economics further while growing fast.”
Dealshare is currently present in over 100 towns and cities across ten states. It intends to increase that number to more than 300 this year.
