Vineeta Singh, the most polite shark on Shark Tank, has discussed how she frequently receives trolling and criticism in the social media comment sections for her appearance or clothing choices.

Even Vineeta Singh, one of India’s most successful businesswomen, has to deal with comments about her appearance. Vineeta discussed the online harassment she faces due to the way she looks or dresses in a recent interview with author Chetan Bhagat.

She claimed that she no longer reads comments on her posts because they are so derogatory. “I am the CEO of a company and even now people comment ‘you don’t look good enough, ‘you started a makeup brand because you look so bad’, and other such things. Added she, “As a woman, people place a lot of value on your appearance. I’ve accomplished so much in life, even on Instagram, but when I post something, 95% of the comments are about how I look. It falls under that category. It results from being a girl.”

Vineeta, one of the “sharks” on Shark Tank India, claimed that women frequently face disadvantages. “Nobody questioned Steve Jobs’ choice of clothing. It was acceptable for Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg to don the same T-shirt “ she Added.

Vineeta claimed that she is also made fun of for choosing to launch a cosmetics company (Sugar Cosmetics) over a more “serious” endeavor. She dismisses their assertion, however, because they would have the same opinion if she had also founded a “steel empire.”

Shark Tank also featured Ghazal Alagh of Mama Earth Cosmetics, Peyush Bansal, the CEO of Lenskart, Ashneer Grover, the co-founder of Bharat Pe, Aman Gupta, the co-founder of boAt, Namita Thapar, the CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, and Anupam Mittal, the founder of Shaadi.com.

Currently, Shark Tank has been given a second season renewal. Registrations for the new season are already open, according to the promo for the Sony Entertainment Television program. Entrepreneurs pitch their business concepts to a panel of “sharks” on Shark Tank, asking for their financial support in exchange for equity in the business.
