Report Indicates Air India Needs Over 6,500 Pilots to Manage 470 Aircraft.

Industry insiders report that Air India will need over 6,500 pilots to manage the operation of 470 planes from Airbus and Boeing that are expected to be delivered in the upcoming years.

The airline is looking to expand its fleet and operations and has placed an order for a whopping 840 aircraft.

The collective fleet of Air India, Air India Express, Vistara, and AirAsia India, consisting of 220 aircraft, are managed by slightly over 3,000 pilots.
