FM Sitharaman Proposes Measures to Boost Aviation in Budget 2024

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman declared on Thursday that the number of airports will be doubled to 149 in her interim budget.

The 2016-launched UDAN program was expanded to include the development of more than 50 new airports.

By increasing employment prospects and lowering reliance on imports, this action sought to strengthen the domestic aviation sector.
