UPI in Mauritius, Sri Lanka: How Indians who are traveling overseas can use UPI to pay

The Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services were introduced in Mauritius and Sri Lanka, according to a statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs.

UPI in Sri Lanka’s Mauritius: According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services were introduced in Mauritius and Sri Lanka on February 12 at 1:00 PM.

India has effectively launched its Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services in Sri Lanka and Mauritius.

As part of a strategic initiative, RuPay card services have also been introduced in Mauritius.

An Indian completed the first-ever UPI transaction in Sri Lanka, a significant development in international digital payments.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka, and Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth of Mauritius all took part in the virtual ceremony.
