WhatsApp for Android

The WhatsApp social media platform is preparing to release a slew of new features for Android users via new upgrades. Some of these features are now only available to a small set of beta testers, but others have already been rolled out globally. The option to mute calls from unknown numbers, a revised user interface with a bottom navigation bar, the ability to construct single-vote surveys and other enhancements are among the new features.

Furthermore, the instant messaging behemoth is testing an Android feature that looks similar to WhatsApp for iOS, with icons grouped in a bottom navigation bar.

According to reports, the instant messaging network has made headway on its feature to quiet calls from unknown numbers, which was first revealed in March. According to a recent WABetaInfo update, the capability has been added to the WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.23.10.7 version.

Beta testers can now put unknown callers on mute mode using a toggle switch in the Settings > Privacy menu. Users can use this feature to mute calls from possibly spammy phone numbers. These calls, however, will continue to appear on the Calls log and alerts page. Users who are interested in using the functionality can do so by downloading the newest version of WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.10.7 from the Google Play Store.

Version 2.23.10.6 of the WhatsApp beta for Android contains a redesigned user experience with a bottom navigation bar similar to WhatsApp for iOS (formerly iPhone OS). This modification allows Android users to swiftly switch between tabs within the app. While the new interface is presently only available to a small number of beta testers, it is likely to be made available to a larger audience in the near future.

According to reports, Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company, is exploring this functionality in order to improve the app’s overall user experience.

WhatsApp has unveiled numerous new capabilities, including the ability to create single-vote polls, use filters to search for polls in chats, and receive notifications when people vote on polls.

According to a Meta blog post, these changes to the polls feature will make it easier for users to gather data and make judgments. Users will be unable to amend their responses once they have cast their vote in single-vote polls. Additionally, similar to looking for photographs and videos, finding certain polls will be made easier through the use of search filters. Finally, users can choose to receive notifications when others vote on a poll, allowing them to keep track of the results in real-time.

Furthermore, WhatsApp has included new tools that allow users to forward media with captions and add captions to documents while sharing. Before sharing documents such as newspaper stories or work documents, users can now add subtitles to them. These upgrades are currently being sent out internationally and will be available to all users within the next several weeks. WhatsApp hopes that these changes will improve the user experience by making it easier to share and provide context for media and documents.
