The Indian textile sector, in partnership with industry associations, is planning to stage “Bharat Tex 2024,” billed as the world’s biggest textiles show.
This massive exhibition is set to take place in New Delhi from February 26 to February 29, 2024. The event was revealed by Union Minister of Textiles, Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, and Food and Public Distribution, Piyush Goyal, at a curtain raiser at Vanijya Bhavan in New Delhi, according to a news released by the Ministry of Textiles.
The project symbolizes India’s commitment to become a worldwide textile powerhouse via innovation, cooperation, and the “Make in India” mentality. Bharat Tex 2024 depicts India’s 5F vision, which includes Farm, Fibre, Factory, Fashion, and Foreign.
It emphasizes the country’s willingness to face global competition in the textile business, producing goods not only for India but for the whole globe. According to the press release, Minister Goyal pushed the sector to establish “Brand India” while also building internationally renowned businesses.
Industry organizations, textile sector executives, and top government officials attended the event. According to the press release, at the event, Minister Goyal launched the fair logo, website, and video, underlining the importance of displaying India’s capabilities throughout the textile value chain and in sustainability efforts.
“Bharat Tex 2024” is anticipated to be a comprehensive representation of the entire textile industry value chain, encompassing India’s rich cultural heritage, traditional textile practices, and the latest technological innovations, read the press release.
The event will feature knowledge sessions, seminars, conferences, CEO roundtables, B2B and G2G meetings, strategic investment announcements, product launches, and global collaborations that will reshape the textile industry, with over 1,000 exhibitors and over 30,000 visitors from 40 countries. The event will also include live demonstrations, cultural activities, fashion presentations, designer and brand displays, fashion shows, sustainability seminars, and expert speeches.
According to Rachna Shah, Secretary, Ministry of Textile, the textile sector has a significant chance to grow exports, making “Bharat Tex 2024” a relevant event, according to the press release. The event intends to bring together major participants from the Indian and global textile industries, with a focus on the possibilities, infrastructure, incentives, and advantages available in India for worldwide investors and buyers.
“Bharat Tex 2024” will also serve as a platform for global investors and buyers to explore India’s potential as a global manufacturer and consumer market.
According to the statement, this industry-led effort will be coordinated jointly by 11 Textile-related Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and other industry entities. Naren Goenka, Chairman of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), and Bhadresh Dodia, Chairman of the Manmade and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council (MATEXIL), outlined comprehensive preparations for the 2018 show, according to the statement.
“Bharat Tex 2024” represents India’s resolve to redefine the global textile scene by demonstrating its diverse capabilities, sustainable methods, and unrivaled innovation.
